be disabled;
be out of the county on election day and during the period for early voting by personal appearance; or
be confined in jail, but otherwise eligible.
Plus it has to be mailed to the early voting clerk in your county. Not certain what the deadline date is.

(2,439 posts)I lived in CO and we had mail in ballots. In WI we can ask for a paper ballot - I do every time. Sadly, only a few do at my precinct.

(6,377 posts)People on DU are finding out about it because articles about it happening are being written in Texas. I've yet to see some sort of situation where someone on DU discovers voter fraud, contacts the media and the media reports on it.

(7,572 posts)I haven't voted yet, but will pay close attention if I vote straight ticket; haven't ever had that happen here in my county. I would raise a public stink about it if it did. I suppose you can start over on your vote, and check it again, or vote for each office individually.
Edit to add: I don't think it is possible to ask for a paper ballot here.

(2,795 posts)It was only when you chose straight dem ticket. I think if you took the time to select each one it didn't flip. I remember even seeing someone post a video of the selection flipping right before their eyes. Of course it was all explained away as some glitch in the machine.
