Senator says she was 'stunned' by Kavanaugh's answer to drinking question

WASHINGTON – Sen. Amy Klobuchar said she was “stunned” by Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s temperament before the Senate Judiciary Committee, including his personal inquisition about her drinking habits.

“I was really stunned by how he acted at that hearing,” Klobuchar (D-Minn.) told CNN’s “State of the Union.” “This is basically a job interview for the highest court of the land.”

Kavanaugh raged against Democratic senators Thursday and accused them of trying to derail his nomination with false sexual assault allegations as “revenge” for Hillary Clinton losing the White House in 2016.

A seething Kavanaugh repeatedly refused to answer Democrats’ questions and instead took to grilling the senators himself. In one memorable exchange, Klobuchar asked whether Kavanaugh ever got so drunk he couldn’t remember what happened the night before.

“You’re asking about a blackout,” the judge responded. “I don’t know, have you?”

would expect from a nominee for a position on the Supreme Court is rude backtalk. I wish she had called him out on it then and there. "Sir, may I remind you why you are here today. You have been nominated for a position on the highest court in the land, and serious charges have been leveled against you. It would behoove you to comport yourself with the self-control and decorum expected of a Supreme Court Justice. The nation is watching." He deserved such a smackdown and then some. Would have loved to see her put the sniveling little bastard in his place.

So much about his performance was shockingly OTT, I'm amazed that none of the Democrats called him out - but that it was the Republicans who appeared to lose it - most shockingly Lindsey Graham! Good Grief! The whole debacle was beyond unbelievable! And this nut job aspires to a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court??! How does he act if it's something less important?? And his reaction to Amy Klobuchar should have sunk him there and then!

This is the selection of the American Oligarchs. Betsy DeVoss is more responsible for this than Trump.

I'm really tired of the "revenge" bullshit and we need to smack it down when we hear it.

The fact is that Kav isn't the first SCOTUS nom after the election, Gorsuch was. Gorsuch was many things Democrats could and do object too politically but he's apparently not the lying abusive sexually predatory POS alcoholic with a nasty temperament that shouldn't be acceptable in a city bus driver no less in someone who trying to be approved for a lifetime position with the highest court in the land.

Kavanaugh is getting treated exactly as Kavanaugh should be with what is coming out and the kind of horrible human being HE revealed HIMSELF to be when being questioned.

This was ostensibly a job interview - who would even be "called back" after totally losing it and going off and insulting the person/people doing the interviewing??? And for this particular job - the requirements being to have knowledge of the law, a sober temperament, and, most important, to view any case before the court in an impartial and serious manner. But this nut job pledged his allegiance to Trump right there and then - hardly impartial and this third branch of government is supposed to be independent, as Congress should be. He should never have been allowed to continue after that, let alone invited back! Jesus!!!
