At least, that seems to be what Republican men believe.

Remember that McConnell told Trump to choose "anyone but Kavanaugh". So he's obviously aware of things in Kavanaugh's past that could pose problems if found out.
I doubt he knew about the sexual molestation - so there must be something else he was concerned about, which would also explain Kavanaugh's obvious fear about a further FBI investigation.
