I figure in at least 16 states, maybe more, we will need at least 4 new prisons per, for the Women who are going to be going to prison for illegal abortions, illegal use of birth control, etc.
Oh, anybody heard of Griswold?
Yeah, so now is the time to start a new company building prisons.
Only my prisons will have tunnels built into them so all the prisoners can escape.
Exaggerating you say? No, surely NOW nobody will accuse me of that? Go ahead, tell me I am being "hyperbolic" or "sky is falling".
i dare you.

(5,754 posts)In about 6 years. The time to raise taxes and start buying the land is now, right? I remember double sessions during the 1960s. That was necessary until they built more buildings.

(90,764 posts)There are groups of women who travel to bring women in low to no access states to states where they can get abortions and other services.
There's housing accommodation and childcare as well.
Not every line can provide every service - but mostly because of the lack of volunteers.
Some lines only travel so far before another driver takes over for the next leg. Sometimes the distances can be great.
I've posted about this before a few months ago.
If you need to start a line - start it.
Women are going to have to band together and work around all the ignorance and hate.
They are giving us no choice.
A search on the internet will bring up info.
We can cry over photos of the dead bodies of women after an illegal/self-induced abortion - or we can work to prevent those deaths even as we cry. Because there will be tears.
It's a two front war - the political fight and the reality on the ground.
Women can do both.
Men can help. Men already do help. You'll find men as drivers now.
Here's one in California - a network

But others do exist. Call, email - whatever. Get the information needed and then people can do what they can.

(90,764 posts)Not because it is illegal - it isn't.
But because the less the viewing public knows the less you get targeted.
A few links - but people willing to help to take the next steps on their own.

Different groups fund different things - but they can help with how you can best help.
