Pelosi has taken far, far, far too much abuse from DEMOCRATS. We would never have had the Affordable Care Act had she not been Speaker of the House. IF she said something was "not on the table"regarding impeachment, it was for purely strategic reasons. She loathes Pussy Grabber as much as anybody. To state otherwise is disingenuous.

An impeachment hearing for Bush would have brought out the dirty laundry of the Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Firth cabal. There wouldn't have been a conviction but everyone would have known what shits they are.

Same with the Orange Shit-stain (Thanks Ferret). The information gathered by Muller may never see the light of day if Rosenstein is fired, followed by Muller. An impeachment hearing may be the only way we will know the extent of the treachery.

It's a process to remove the President, and the stakes are so high that you don't start if you're not prepared to successfully finish. If you FAIL to vote to impeach or FAIL to vote to convict (2/3 of Senate required) you have effectively acquitted him.

So what happened? Bush got to serve out his full term.

There also is no guarantee that an impeachment hearing for Trump would not gather enough shit that even Republicans would have to vote to convict.

I do think that she believes correctly that if we talk about impeachment before the elections in November it will make his supporters come out in droves.

There really isn’t any reason for his low information base to bother voting in the midterms. As far as they’re concerned he’s ensconced solidly for two more years. That’s the reason so few people vote in the midterms. They’re total lack of knowledge and political interest makes them complacent. His rallies aren’t helping him as much as we fear. But if we are seen as a real threat to his Presidency they will come out to defend him.

Pelosi is right about that. But my fear is that she will take it off the table.

My belief is that if Trump isn’t the poster child for impeaching a President than no one is. Sooner or later in this country we have to do the right thing for the principles it is built on.

What with the Rosenstein issue, who knows.

But of course, the Mueller report results could reveal "high crimes and misdemeanors" (actually, such have been shown to date, without the Mueller report, IMO).

But first...let's take back Congress! Then we'll talk!

the repubs will bow to him and their base no matter the immorality or criminal behavior.

tRump will not be impeached and there will be no 25th amendment remedy. He will serve out his term. That's my prediction.

Now, a second term isn't likely to happen, IMO.

I think the Democratic leaders do not have the stomach or will to proceed with impeachment, even if warranted. It's stressful and takes time. They'll use the old "we have to press forward with our agenda" excuse.

The same reason(s) they used not to hold the criminal bankers accountable for torpedoing the economy in 2007. So....fast forward...and the bankers/investment cos. are doing it again. They know they will not be held accountable.

If Trump is not held accountable, there WILL be another Trump.

I know it is reall really really really really hard for some people to get that fact through their heads.

Nonetheless, Nancy Pelosi is the single most accomplished Speaker of the House in US History. And as Minority Leader, she has held the line in vote after vote after vote, keeping the Democratic caucus in line.

But hey, whatever floats your boat.

progressives decided not to vote for the Democratic nominee in 2016 by either voting third party or not voting?

and because some of the 47% who didn’t don’t vote that’s were part of that, every Democrat running for Senate in those critical swing states lost to the establishment, Republican, incumbent, and those Democrats were progressive by any standard

A better question is can we trust those people to vote in the midterms sterns?

One was a president out of office, the other is a sitting so-called president who is conspired with PUtin to steal the office and who is profiting personally from illegal foreign and who is attempting to change he world for the betterment of Russia and not the US. He is a present danger and she will 100% address it given proof of his crimes.

Obama took impeachment of Bush off the table before she did, she followed her president.

I wish people on this board would stop with the Pelosi bashing. She's a very effective Dem and we need everyone on board, not some moderate who will splinter the party trying to suck up to Repugs.
