https://theintercept.com/2018/09/12/brett-kavanaugh-confirmation-dianne-feinstein/Different sources provided different accounts of the contents of the letter, and some of the sources said they themselves had heard different versions, but the one consistent theme was that it describes an incident involving Kavanaugh and a woman while they were in high school. Kept hidden, the letter is beginning to take on a life of its own.

I'd say Senator Feinstein may have something really potent.

(537 posts)So if I'm understanding this:
A woman who knew Kavanaugh in HS told somebody at Stanford about something that had happened. The Stanford person turned it over to his Congress critter. She then turned it over to Feinstein.
And currently, Feinstein is not sharing it with fellow Dems (nor Rs).
If we know that much, there's probably a leaker somewhere that might fill us in on the rest.

(32,324 posts)The woman who is the subject of the letter is now being represented by Debra Katz, a whistleblower attorney who works with #MeToo survivors. Joseph Abboud, an attorney at Katzs firm, said that the firm was declining to comment. Emma Crisci, a spokesperson for Eshoo, declined to comment on the letter her office sent to Feinstein, saying that the office has a confidentiality policy when it comes to constituent casework. A spokesperson for Feinstein did not respond to requests for comment.

A perfect Karl Rove-like tactic would be to have a accuser make allegations for the media and Democrats to pounce on, only to later have the accuser and/or the allegations be revealed as bogus, thus leaving Kavanaugh to be portrayed as a victim of a left-wing smear tactic.
Whatever is in the letter, I hope it's getting vetted like the world depends on it.
Frankly, I think the perjury should be enough to not only keep Kavanaugh off the Supreme Court, it should disqualify him from any judgeship. If anyone would want us talking about a letter instead of perjury, it's Kavanaugh.
