Sometimes you just have to let people blow off some steam lest they become even more violent later on. Letting people speak out and receive widespread social disapproval is better than bottling them up and giving them the impression of a righteous cause.

I think GOPers in general are a good example of my point. They refuse to have an intelligent discussion relating their viewpoint to facts, yet their ignorance and hatred suck others into their way of thinking. Just look at Herr Spanky and his followers.

I'm just laying out the basic function that people who are suppressed just get more radical. The alternative, as our Founders noted while arguing for the Bill of Rights, leads to violence.

The psychological notion that one has to express one's emotions in a loud or impassioned manner, otherwise keeping in 'bottled up inside' will result in an explosion of rage and anger, has been discredited. Giving vent to one's anger without restraint or ameliorating actions creates a rage that feeds on itself, thereby growing by leaps and bounds.

The old trick our mothers taught us, 'count to ten; it will help you cool off', is the more efficacious solution.

General Patton fought Nazis there and is buried with 1000s of US Soldiers there

Hate Symbols are ILLEGAL in Luxembourg

And the little wimps cowered when the police came. They are so brave, Not.
Sad that the US neo Nazis do not give one F***ING shit about the 1000 soldiers and Patton. Then again, they don't believe in and or care about the Holocaust. They are to dumb to be walking this Earth.

they are not too keen on the subject of History in general. They THINK they know what they are talking about but after a sentence or two it becomes obvious that they don't know about the Founding Fathers, the Constitution, the Civil War, the Civil Rights Movement, etc. and this is OUR own history. Forget knowing the history of other countries, cultures and societies. My dog knows more about Hitler, WW2 and Nazis than they know.

He always said that the country was so small that the military's guns shot around corners to avoid hitting anyone in a neighboring country. That was before the world wars, of course. After being occupied by Germany twice, Luxembourg realized that something different was needed. For that reason, they have long been strong supporters of NATO and the European Union.

Also, they hate Nazis.

and law enforcement worked together weaken the Bund which neutered the Nazi movement in the US.
Now though the only one working against such groups is the FBI as the majority party in our legislature as well as the President are working against law enforcement because they fear the President might be indicted due to the Mueller investigation.

It is destructive and damaging. There are some limits. Not every country believes as we do. They understand the power of hate speech and the need to suppress it.

So they outlaw Nazi symbols because of their history, but there is more discrimination against minorities in everyday activities than we have here in the US.

As a minority, I prefer the American system of free speech where Nazis can spew hate and 10 times as many good people can show up to condemn it. It works out better for all of us.

And hate symbols make it easier to see who is openly hateful and avoid interacting with them. That's much harder in Europe where they don't care if someone is a tourist trying to give them money, they still think of me as a lowly migrant worker who deserves to be thrown out of their country. In America, they have to openly lie and claim that I wasn't really born here and can't be a citizen and do other mental gymnastics to make America white again. European history and their logic makes it easier for them to claim that minorities don't belong there.

This makes me happy on a couple levels. Hate symbols are illegal there so they knew what they were doing when they brought them out.

And screw civility. These guys are the enemy we fought in WWII. No need to treat them any differently than we did last time they got empowered. NO MERCY when they break the laws.

Unfortunately most of the cops over here are sympathetic to the Reich wing.

They beat the piss out of peaceful occupy protesters and stood around watching Nazis take over Cville to beat and kill anti fascist protesters.

The police in Portland just the other day attacked anti fascist protesters while the damn Nazis cheered them on.

Wounding and almost killing some with “non lethal” grenades!

Trump "emboldened" the Nazis

America fought a war against the Nazis and supposedly won.

Yet here they are marching to "take back America".

" Michael Von Kotch, a Pennsylvania resident who called himself a Nazi, said the rally made him "proud to be white."

He said that he's long held white supremacist views and that Trump's election has "emboldened" him and the members of his own Nazi group. "
