This is from our local Journal....a few years back we bought our own DEM HQ and that is a pretty big deal...pop 26 thousand...AND we went solar. The paper is taking notice....Dig the new electric bill !!!
STEVENS POINT A solar power project in Stevens Point is covering more than half of the buildings electricity.
A new 7.4 kilowatt solar array was installed on Earth Day in April at the Democratic Partys headquarters, 2220 Division St. in Stevens Point. Electricity not produced by solar power is still provided by Wisconsin Public Service, but the difference is already considerable. Last month, the buildings electrical bill was 50 cents, compared to a $71 bill from June 2017.
The system includes 25 solar modules and an inverter featuring a power supply and is expected to last 30 to 50 years. The system was installed as part of the Central Wisconsin Solar Group Buy Program, sponsored by the Midwest Renewable Energy Association, Mid-State Technical College, Stevens Point and Wisconsin Rapids.
