I bought postcards today.Tomorrow we are going to the Families Belong Together vigil here in my home town.
I will continue encouraging young people to register and vote. I will help with GOTV efforts.
I will write and call and march in support of all I believe in.
I will donate more, to causes and candidates.
I will be alert for opportunities to do more.
I'm not giving up.
I won't give up no matter how long it takes.
I will work for the restoration of America, and the progress to equity and diversity, peace and justice, until life leaves my body.
I will bequeathe this work to my daughter and my grandson.
I am not giving up.
No matter what.
determinedly,
Bright

(20,755 posts)Every state, every local election.
Every primary.
Every bond issue, every mill levy.
EVERY SINGLE DAMN' TIME.
And demand my receipt with my ballot number on it.
So that if needed, I can VERIFY MY PAPER BALLOT.
Thank you, yes, calimary.
affirmatively,

(20,755 posts)MLK was correct in pointing out both that the arc of history bends toward justice, and that it is LONG.
When I was 'the younger generation' elders deplored the contracting attention spans of "kids today", enabled by teevee and rock n' roll radio and modern technology.
I wish some of those elders were still around to note that my attention span hasn't gotten shorter, but longer.
I guess that is one gift of being an elder now myself.
And there are an awful lot of us.
thoughtfully,

(9,524 posts)resistance, no matter what stage the power game is in. We dont know how far this will go or for how long, but resistance will continue regardless. A huge variable that we have not had before in history is the internet. How that plays out in the big picture remains to be seen. It is a double edged sword. It allows organization and information sharing on an unprecedented level, but also allows unprecedented damage; election theft, etc. But the one thing that is undisputed is that resistance must and will continue.

(51,567 posts)since we are doing a lot of resisting in the coming months. Stay strong, healthy, rest up and never, ever accept defeat! RESISTANCE WORKS!
Don't forget town halls...very, very important. That is how we saved the ACA from completely being overturned.

(3,275 posts)No matter what happens. That is what republicans want. I will fight, vote, resist, protest, support, speak out, march and donate. I will stay positive and remember all the good in this world. The republicans desperately want us to see everything as hopeless, depressing and miserable.
