Trump DISinvites Philadelphia Eagles!

President Donald Trump rescinded an invitation for the Philadelphia Eagles to visit the White House on Tuesday to celebrate their Super Bowl victory.
They disagree with their President because he insists that they proudly stand for the National Anthem, hand on heart, in honor of the great men and women of our military and the people of our country, Trump said in a statement. The Eagles wanted to send a smaller delegation, but the 1,000 fans planning to attend the event deserve better.
He said the fans would still be welcome at the White House on Tuesday but for a different ceremony meant to honor our great country and pay tribute to the heroes who fight to protect it.
Several Eagles players, including safety Malcolm Jenkins and defensive end Chris Long, had said they would skip the ceremony while others had waffled on their participation. Eagles officials had left the decision up to the players.

It'd be like he gave a (broken) party and no one showed up. It'll be interesting to see how Eagles fans choose their priorities.
I know what I want to see but I suspect it won't turn out that way. Too many NFL fans are Trump supporters. Which side will win the loyalty battle?

Merkley asking people to sign petition RE detention centers/family separation:
I'm on Merkley's email list. Got this today:
Yesterday, I was in Brownsville, Texas. I went to visit an immigration detention center housing children who have been separated from their families.
When I arrived, I was barred entry. The police were called on me.
What are they hiding?
Sign the petition: tell Donald Trump to immediately reverse this inhumane policy and reunite these families.

On March 28, 2017, his 32nd birthday, Long signed a two-year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles.[50][51] Long announced that he would donate his entire 2017 salary to charity, with the money going to a different charity each week.[52] Long said in a statement: "I hope it wont stop here, but that more people will become inspired to commit energy and resources to our educational system. It will be the number of people invested in this cause that will be the difference maker for a quality education for every student in America. Education is the best gateway to a better tomorrow for EVERYONE in America."[53]
