(129,457 posts)Schneidermans decision to hire Howard Master reportedly signals that he plans to target Trump and his administration. Master previously served under Bharara, who was fired after refusing to resign at Attorney General Jeff Sessionss request.

(31,261 posts)But the two deputies seem very capable of taking over. Both are highly qualified and have run tough investigations. But it is sad to see this happen to Eric Sniderman, I saw him as the next New York Governor.

(11,109 posts)The reporter he was "interviewing" was reporting as fact that Schneiderman was guilty. Chris did not push back at all.
I may be that Schneiderman is guilty as hell. I may also be that this is a smear job to take down someone seen as a threat to Trump. I don't know - neither does Chris or the all-so confident reporter he was "interviewing."

(5,210 posts)was that the "evidence" -- Ronan Farrow's reporting in meticulous detail, as well as how consistent the stories were between the women -- was as overwhelming as it was in the case of Roy Moore. THEY didn't make that comparison, I did.
You have a point, and I hope someone somewhere will push for a little more "due process," but ... I don't have a lot of faith in that. It's already been reported Cuomo is going to ask for his resignation.

Never discount the heavy fingers of Roger Stone in any shenanigans.

(54,770 posts)There is really not much worse than an abuser, so why do these people even run for office?
Hope I'm wrong, but doesn't sound good.
As far as trump, never put much hope in state prosecutions. Even in the bluest states, it would be hard to find a jury that would convict. Now they might get his kids or aides, which is something.

(13,501 posts)I'm disgusted and disheartened by this story. Ronan's reporting is above reproach, though.
My first thought was "This is going to hurt us." Then I realize that he most likely abused at least four women, so fuck it all. Tear it all down.
I am absolutely disgusted. Cuomo should fire his ass. Hopefully the AG's office has what they need for any other investigative purposes.
I will still wait for all the shit to hit the fan.
I will never forget the Franken node of mass destruction.

(31,261 posts)Cuomo can't fire him. He must either resign or get defeated at the polls.
Really disappointed, I had put high hopes in him. Hope this is all not true, but it does not look good. If he is an abuser, he must go, there is no other option, IMO.

(31,261 posts)Sex can start off consensual and the consensual aspect ends when one partner withdraws consent or fear reprisal if the sex is not completed.
So saying that it was consensual because both were in bed and MAYBE having rough sex is somewhat meaningless when the issue of consent for the entire act(s) comes into play.

(31,261 posts)I have zero tolerance for men that hit women under pretty much all circumstances, even if the man is struck first. The only thing that I can accept is a man struck a woman because she had a weapon and was about to kill him.

(3,181 posts)particularly on the right, will try to use it for political purposes. Franken was brutalized without due process for things a sincere apology and honest recognition of past mistakes should have taken care of.
