I have a feeling it will happen before that. I wonder if he will even be replaced.

gets you fired/resigned but a comedian at a roast who never directly calls anyone "fat" or "idiot" gets called on the carpet by the GOP, media, etc. Seems fair to me.

(82,849 posts)First, there has to be the obligatory pas-de-deux with the "independent" media: "President Trump love-loves-LOVES Gen. Kelly, and hope he stays on as chief of staff forevah!" Followed by "additional disturbing reports" that Gen. Kelly still has a functioning brain and has retained a scintilla of self respect. With the compulsories out of the way, we move on to President Trump being "troubled," and the White House fixing blame squarely on Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, or whoever else they want to bad mouth (last time around it was Sen. Tester of Montana). Within 24 hours, Gen. Kelly will announce that he doesn't want to be a "distraction" at whatever crucial time we're currently at (Korea? Dismantling the Iran treaty?), and he will suddenly decide he needs to spend more time with his family on an upstate farm where he can run and run 'til he just can't run no more!
