I don't get. Someone help me out here.
Michelle rode the line (like all good satarists do) and spoke an incredible amount of truth to power, but people here are doing all they can to bring her down. She did a great job. Brilliant satire.
Wolf told no lies. She said only truths. And, contrary to the current narrative, she did NOT insult SHS appearance (on the contrary she complimented her).
So, why aren't we applauding what she did?

(31,134 posts)did that for a cheap laugh at some point, I would not care NOW you see because NOW nazis are trying to kill women and children.
Said nazis are in the WH and their chief spokesperson is the target of Wolf.
Wolf has more courage than anyone I have seen in a long time.

(15,805 posts)She can't say that kind of stuff because its not ladylike. Wolf is a strong assertive woman who fought back, speaking truth to power in public so she cannot be allowed to stand because women like her make men's balls shrink.

(36,119 posts)Where are the "people here are doing all they can to bring her down?"
She's gotten overwhelmingly good reception here at DU. There have been many, many OPs since her performance. Check the greatest threads for high endorsements.
I've seen only a few OPs expressing otherwise, or linking to offsite articles of the same
Good grief

Joy didn't apologize the way they wanted.

(10,849 posts)They tried their damnest to bring Reid down but then she went and did a full . . . mea culpa in public, followed by a panel discussion. Oops! Who saw that coming? Someone admitting a past blindspot/attitude and owning up to it, vowing to do better.
Caught them completely off-guard because the Republican strategy is always deny, blame others or scream FAKE NEWS.
No, it's not over yet. This whole hacking issue still has a life. But Joy Reid is proving her mettle. Good for her!
This is why her supporters love her, btw. She doesn't give up easy. And it's pretty clear this was a right-wing smear campaign, a tit-for-tat after the Ingraham and Hannity scandals.
Go Joy!

(14,249 posts)People are being criticized for going after a strong African-American female Democratic ally.
Michelle Wolf is being criticized for going after Donald Trumps reprehensible press secretary.
Ummm ...
Oh, never mind.

(30,481 posts)Always loved that one. Have probably used it myself when talking about a comedic performance. I actually dont think I have but the way back machine has me a little nervous these days. 😁
Art is a beautiful thing. We all view it differently and appreciate different things. Never heard of this person until now. That is why the attempted link to Reid fails. Most people are in that boat with respect to name recognition.
