REPUBLICAN SENATE CANDIDATE, CALLED FOR COUNTRY 'FREE FROM JEWS,

COULD BE DIANNE FEINSTEIN’S CHALLENGER
Newsweek
BY MICHAEL EDISON HAYDEN ON 4/28/18 AT 8:20 AM

Overt anti-Semites have been slowly creeping into Republican politics in the aftermath of President Trump’s successful, populist candidacy, and now one of them has a fighting chance of representing the Republican Party in a Senate race.

The man in question is Patrick Little, an extremist with hardline anti-Semitic views who is backed by David Duke and other far-right extremists. Little will be squaring off in a top-two primary with 10 other Republicans as well as Democrats and independents on June 5 for the chance to oppose veteran Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein. According to the most recent poll, released last week, he very much has a chance of winning the right to face off with the incumbent.

As much as Dems wish and hope for candidates to run against who happen to be guaranteed losers, having anti-Semitism creeping into the political discourse is a very sad reflection of the times, and a sobering reminder of what took place when those espousing this bigoted mindset gained power not that many decades ago.

2. Today's GOP - tribalism (vote for R), ignorance (don't care what R stands for), and bigotry

(for those who embrace what it now stands for). At least that is how I read the article's explanation.

UnF*ckingBelievable - but so is/was Trump - and here we are.

4. Well said. Tribalism also aims at decreasing empathy.

Trump is a symptom of a political disease that has been festering for many years. Yet he brings his own personal lack of empathy to the political system. His reaction to the disabled comes to mind.

Seems like the act of a reckless liberal to today’s Republican leadership.
