Question about the termination of the House Chaplain

I'm not as religious as I used to be, but I still take my baseball cap off when I walk into a church. My son is an altar boy, I'm always polite to the school chaplain and I pitch for an Uber when the elderly Sister Anne needs a ride home. Paul Ryan is a major figure in the Republican Party, always ready to offer his "thoughts and prayers" but fires the damn House Chaplain because he didn't like a prayer?

Aren't we supposed to be party devoid of values?

for Saint Ryan's taste. Why is there even a chaplain is my question...church and state are SUPPOSED to be separate. I grew up in Phila and I learned a little bit about a group of guys called the Founding Fathers and I walked past a building called Indepen. Hall every day to go to work....but what do I know?

The Chaplin doesn't deliver a sermon.

The Chaplain of the United States House of Representatives is chosen to "perform ceremonial, symbolic, and pastoral duties".
These responsibilities include opening House sessions with a prayer or coordinating the delivery of the prayer by guest chaplains recommended by members of the House.

what I heard on MSNBC today.....he gave some sort of speech and it was too political when it wasn't supposed to be political at all and Ryan was not happy about it.

Every time I think the Republican
party has reached a new low
they surprise me by going lower.
Can't wait to kick the scums out of office
and we should not be fooled again.

what would have been the comments here. I would say that this board would be fucking crazy and rightly so.

I agree with what he said and it was a dig at Lyin' Ryan.
