You know, your not just sitting there shouting at your TV. Some of us need some context to know what the hell you are ranting about.

Trump said it'd cost less than a half million. Not a chance. He said he rejected an estimate closer to $1 BILLION. That's from his mouth, so... Nevertheless, far closer to reality.

Our newer embassies are all fortresses built to special specifications. Same for our consulates. Bengazi could never have happened if our guys had overnighted in the nearest consulate, if there was one, or returned directly to the embassy, instead of staying way too long in an unsecured place. There were an estimated 5000 militia groups in post-revolution Algeria at the time. Can you imagine what an embassy in Jerusalem would call for?

We were site shopping and realized we already had a beautiful building that just needed a facelift.
So after some improvements and a little paint, our embassy will be in the spare room back by the garage now.
Bam! He saved us a billion dollars. What a guy.

pushback, particularly since we've got a perfectly good embassy in Israel already, the debt has grown so much from the tax cuts, the economy is slowing, and there's no F'ing billion dollars sitting around Washington DC accumulating dust. So he thinks if he moves into the $150,000 potential embassy that he can get the US Embassy moved to Jerusalem a lot faster than if he had to wait on Congress to appropriate a billion dollars for the construction of a new one. (Not to mention he still wants billions for the border fence with Mexico that his base still thinks Mexico is going to pay for.) So hopefully Paul Ryan is not going to let him turn our government into the next Trump Taj Mahal, (in other words, bankrupt us) in the final days of his watch.

So once they get the U.S. embassy officially moved to the $150,000 location in Jerusalem and Bebe is happy, Trump and Bebe will immediately determine that the facility is inadequate for a U.S. Embassy and all kinds of other reasons, and they then will revisit the plans for the billion dollar embassy, as the only available option.

Hopefully though, by then it will be November elections, and the Dems will have taken back control of the House, and Nancy cancels the border fence, and embassy in Jerusalem, and tells Trump and Bebe to go fly a kite.

the backlash would slam them, but especially with the aggressive Christian conservatives behind this if they refused.
