Twitter-verse seems to be stumped.

Edit to Add: Kristian Saucier is the sailor, apparently.

(183,007 posts)Weird story. The sailor was fully aware that photos - he took panoramic shots- inside our subs are very verboten. The guidance system and firing especially. He took the pics and accidentally left his camera at a landfill near San Diego. A Navy retiree found it. He looked through the phone and found the pics. Took it to someone he knew in the Navy (actual NCIS?) and it lead back to the sailor. The sailor got booted and got some time I think. Will research.

Struggling to understand the point being made.

(183,007 posts)A US Navy sailor was sentenced on Friday to a year in prison for taking photos of classified areas inside a nuclear attack submarine while it was in port in Connecticut.
Kristian Saucier, of Arlington, Vermont, appeared in federal court in Bridgeport, where a judge also ordered him to serve six months of home confinement with electronic monitoring during a three-year period of supervised release after the prison time. He pleaded guilty in May to unauthorized detention of defense information and had faced five to six years in prison under federal sentencing guidelines.
Saucier took the photos knowing they were classified, but did so only to be able to show his family and future children what he did while he was in the Navy, his lawyers said. He denied sharing the photos with any unauthorized recipient.
The investigation began in 2012 when a waste station supervisor in Hampton, Connecticut, found Sauciers cellphone with the submarine photos on top of a pile of demolition trash and showed it to his friend, who was a retired Navy chief and brought the phone to the NCIS, according to court documents.

(58,785 posts)Trump previously compared Sauciers case to the scandal over Hillary Clintons private email server, questioning why the sailor was sent to prison but Clinton was not. Now he appears to have used exactly the same tactic on Comey,..."

Storm the courthouse.
Back to my coffee while honorable people work to contain this beast. Almost warm enough for morning on the porch.

(2,345 posts)He is making a direct correlation to relevant facts from the past.
It is a disingenuous relevancy, and he is using that reference to tar Comey with the specter of releasing information that could get him thrown in jail.
It does not matter that Comey did nothing illegal and will never spend a minute incarcerated, or even charged. It only matters that Trump paints him with that smear. Trump is a Relentless Shit Talker.
Never underestimate the stupidity of the general public.

(14,500 posts)Who knows and parsing his every word ain't worth our time. The pResident shouldn't be using Twitter, and many agree that he probably does not compose most of them anyway.
I hope eventually he is held accountable for every word he speaks and Tweets. He and his cohorts can't be gone quickly enough.
