Attorney General Jeff Sessions said he shared President Donald Trumps frustrations with the special counsel probe and called for it to wrap up.
The attorney general testified Thursday before the House Appropriations Committee, saying the investigation overseen by special counsel Robert Mueller was distracting the president from national security matters.
Look, I think the American people are concerned, and the president is concerned, Sessions said. Hes dealing with France and North Korea and Syria and taxes and regulations and border and crime, every day, and I wish this thing needs to conclude, Session said. So I understand his frustrations, and I understand the American peoples frustrations.
Rep. Evan Jenkins (R-WV) prompted the response by complaining that Hillary Clinton and other political enemies of the president had escaped special counsel scrutiny, which he said angered his constituents.
At the very root of this, I think my constituents are frustrated, are angry, they see a double standard historically, Jenkins said. They want justice.

Letting trump -- or his associates -- continue to ruin our country is a national emergency. Mueller has had plenty of time to find solid evidence of wrong-doing. If he doesn't have much, we should know that too. If it's so complicated, he still needs more evidence and connecting the dots, no one will ever understand it enough to convince the 50% +/- of us who supported and continue to support trump (if only quietly), a jury, or Congress.

(6,418 posts)...I mean...seriously....nobody every really investigated HRC. It's not like she got dragged out in front of some group of tormentors and had to endure hours of inane questioning. And really - RW media just let her slide by on everything from Vince to Ben (that's Foster to Ghazi).
I can see how the brilliant logicians of WV would have an issue with the historical double standard.

(24,452 posts)that's not his decision, Trump's decision, or Rudy's decision to make! How long were the Clintons investigated again? Benghazi/E-mail server investigations of HRC went on for, what, 2-3 years as well?
