It's very interesting. Short memories appear to be more and more common among Democrats and "progressives. Maybe we need something "originally found in ...Jellyfish..." to help us with our recall capabilities.
Sometimes it seems as though memory deficits are becoming epidemic. Sometimes.

(1,294 posts)Whereas the ones running with Reids hacking claims are false are all of the Breitbart, PJ Media, The Hill slant. In other words, the vast right wing conspiracy machine is doing this as a warmup to their mega smears planned against Dems in 2018 midterms along with their Russian overlords, Wikileaks, and assorted hackers and bot accounts on social media.

It's mind boggling.

(146,350 posts)Even here on DU, we don't seem to be getting what is going on. If that's true, what hope is there in the real world?

(28,270 posts)what it was during the primaries in 2016.
I think the JPRers have assumed new personas and are cranking up the independent/green attack machine here to affect the midterms and of course 2020.
I guess its just a matter of time before I get booted off of DU again for the crime of supporting liberal democrats.

(146,350 posts)I stuck it out in 2016, and tried to promote unity and GOTV, as I always do. I'll continue to do the same.

(146,350 posts)I don't want a replay. I want to win in November. It looks to me like some folks don't really want that, somehow.
First, they came for Al Franken. Who's next, I wonder, after they destroy Joy?
I'm getting worried. Too many people seem bent on destroying our chances.

(146,350 posts)If they succeed, I think we'll lose again in 2018 and fail to regain control of at least one house of Congress. If that happens, we may lose everything.
I'm old. I was hoping to see us move forward in a progressive direction during my lifetime. I'm beginning to worry now that we're going off in the opposite direction. I will hate to see that happen.

(12,692 posts)Studies in the psychology have found that when groups grow large enough that individuality has a lesser value in the social order, the group starts becoming stressed as members fight to retain their importance in the social order. You have alphas and wanna-be alphas fighting for position.
The more individual control a person requires in their lives, the sooner they are to start attacking anything that threatens their sense of person and boundaries.
It doesn't matter if someone views themselves as a liberal or a conservative. Personalities with high ego or emotional needs will always look for causes and activities to set themselves apart and maintain a sense of individuality amongst the masses.
If it means destroying a percieved enemy or bringing about a revolution to immediately right some wrong, they'll eagerly embrace it - no matter what results are in the long run. Because it's better for their sense of self.
