THE DIRTY:
WASHINGTON Dr. Ronny L. Jackson, the White House physician nominated to lead the Department of Veterans Affairs, provided a large supply of Percocet, a prescription opioid, to a White House military office staff member, throwing his own medical staff into a panic when the medical unit could not account for the missing drugs, according to a summary of questionable deeds compiled by the Democratic staff of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee.
A nurse on his staff said Dr. Jackson had written himself prescriptions, and when caught, he asked a physician assistant to provide the medication. And at a Secret Service going away party, the doctor got intoxicated and wrecked a government vehicle, according to the summary.
The two-page document fleshes out three categories of accusations prescription drug misuse, hostile work environment and drunkenness that threaten to derail President Trumps nominee.

(37,748 posts)Had my first muscle relaxant scrip about four months ago and I can a) readily understand its addictive qualities: heck, I had to stop myself for asking for one more refill-- because I wanted it, not because I needed it, and b) have no idea how *anyone* can fulfill their daily duties when high on that stuff (and percocet, being a brazilian times stronger just has me baffled).
I've been high on some of the best weed in world, but the muscle relaxant was so unlike high-- I was content just sitting down, watching a blank screen on the tele for three hours, and writing the word's best novel in my head (when pen came to paper, it was on par with Dr. Suess, but without the meter, the rhymes, the moral or the talent).
Opiates. Damn.

(4,407 posts)is a HUGE red flag and illegal in some states (such a Florida). This doctor would be disciplined for the things he has done by most state licensing Boards. I know this because this is what I do for a living.
The big question in my mind is: "Navy, what the hell?" It's bad enough to not police their physicians, but to let him treat the Commander in Chief? This guy should have been thrown out of the Navy, not assigned to care for the POTUS. Somebody should have to answer for this.
And, of course, he should not be running the biggest medical system in the country.

(25,630 posts)A self-prescribed Rx for Percocet would be flagged instantly and in Philly Id be placed on a watch list and eventually confronted or indicted depending upon what else I was doing. Inconceivable to do this.

(4,407 posts)I don't know the timing of all these things, but Jackson probably should be suspended from the practice of medicine immediately.

Trump turns everything to shit. Get involved with him and it's only a matter of time.
