PFLAG National—the nation's first and largest organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) people, their families, and allies—today has rescinded its Straight for Equality in Media award to political analyst Joy Reid.

Said PFLAG National president Jean Hodges, “When we extended our invitation to Ms. Reid to honor her at our 45th anniversary celebration, we did so knowing about the blog posts from the late 2000s regarding Charlie Crist. We appreciated how she stepped up, took ownership, apologized for them, and did better—this is the behavior and approach we ask of any ally. However, in light of new information, and the ongoing investigation of that information, we must at this time rescind our award to Ms. Reid.”

That has been out there forever that he has had beard girlfriends/wife.
What did she say about this that was offensive?

Reid and MSNBC are saying that the posts were made by somebody else.

Mediaite broke the story. She had a blog, now defunct, with many homophobic postings. She claims it was hacked but doesn’t explain how a deleated blog can be hacked.

This is the kind of thing that can end a career.

I won’t watch her show again.

7. Wow, if true, that is hugely disappointing.

I love her weekend shows.
She doesn’t let Repubs get by with just spouting nonsense talking points.
She should address this immediately and do a mea culpa if any is true.

Also, I would like to hear Rachel Maddows take on this.
I know she really likes Joy and has her guest host her show when she is away.

I am no where near an expert on tech but I find it very hard to see how this could have been accomplished without some breech of both archives (wayback and library of congress). Therefore I think she said this stuff.
