One commentator was remarking that though she did not think Democrats had enough to take this very R district, it was remarkable that we were even considering the possibility.

might be too small to put us across the line here.

It would have to be 10 miles high to beat the republican cheating machine.

for official results beginning with a download of mail-in ballots at 8P.M. local, 11 P.M. Eastern as an alternative to the NYT. I think we'll make a good showing. We've worked hard, with more enthusiasm than I've seen in the quarter century I've lived in the district.

A lot of old fart retirees who watch fox all day in their recliner chairs. Their big activity is voting against those damn liberals.

it would send shock waves if Tipirneni won, Lesko is a wingnut she fits this district.

155,000 votes-they were supposed to drop 80% of vote-so good showing but not looking good--about a 20 point Democratic shift though

So this should be Lesko's biggest lead, don't know how much is left to count

we could win this

edited to add

NYT calls it for Lesko so apparently there isn't a lot of vote left

It seems amazing to me that a party would spend millions on an electorate of less than 500,000, of whom only 33% turned out. And a 15 point swing to the Dems - that has to be encouraging, hasn't it?

Correction - I just saw that Trump took this by 28, so a 22 point swing - is that right?

From what someone from the area wrote last week. All in all, good showing by the Dem.

Corrected the 28% to 21%.

The fence is a fantasy. It is always tough to disprove a fantasy. Some of the people who voted for Lesko claimed that immigrants were taking jobs from recent high school grads, maybe if those grads are willing to work long hard days in hot sun for minimal pay, then yes, but I doubt ex high schoolers would want those jobs, nor would they want to sweat in a hot assed restaurant kitchen for 8 hours with almost no break.

Such as in alternative energy production.

And what about considering a universal basic income and universal health care.

No, much better to foster and exploit racism, talk about building a wall and promote school vouchers.

Worldwide populism and especially the populism here in the USA has an extensive underbelly of racism and fear of the "other" about it.
