the weight Jackson gave for Trump. Or maybe to believe he could get away with that lie.

I didn't include the "excessive" adjective in the subject line because it didn't fit.

But it left me wondering just how much drinking he has to have been doing for that to be mentioned. I'd think that ANY drinking on the job would be considered a problem.

I watched the guys in Mad Men hit the liquor cart first thing in the morning. I realized that they were creative types, and no lives were at stake.

But still, to get a buzz on first thing in the morning at work, and to maintain the buzz all day; it hardly seems like a job at all.

But "drinking on the job" usually means he was noticably drunk while working. Also, you can't bring alcohol onto federal property, so maybe he broke that rule a few times.

Intoxicants
An employee is prohibited from habitually using alcohol or other intoxicants to excess. Components may have more specific guidance and limitations, including for off-duty alcohol use. Employees must know and adhere to the specific limitations that apply to the employee.
5 USC 7352

Some agencies specifically prohibit the use of alcohol while on duty and/or on premises, but at his position this would not be enforced.

I am guessing he got drunk as social occasions that were part off his job, not during working hours. Just to give him the benefit of the doubt

"Excessive drinking on the job???" There's an acceptable amount of drinking on the job??? For a DOCTOR? Well, almost anyone really, but doctors are held to pretty rigorous standards.

A friend of my parents was an eye surgeon, and he gave up caffeinated drinks, let alone alcohol. Granted, the margin of error in his job was literally minuscule, but still....

Someone (I forget who it was since so many people get fired/resign in the WH) was recently canned due to his staff having drinking games while at work.... hiding cold alcoholic drinks of some kind. I thought drinking at the WH was part of the job these days. I wonder if the doctor prescribed diet meds for the moron like he used to get in the 80s? His diet doesn't seem to have trimmed off any pounds but I doubt he was actually on it for more than a few days.

...and for generally sucking up to the boss, because the report all along has been about how well-liked Dr. Ronny always has been.

Obviously not everybody likes him, or there would not be complaints of a hostile work environment. But as Donald could attest, those are only underlings.

The best thing about this is, he will not get to ruin the VA.

He "loves the Vets"but nominated an unvetted, incompetent, substance abusing, Script Writer to manage the Healthcare System on which their very health and life depend. Trump obviously gives less than a sit about "The Vets".

Trump's pattern of totally unqualified (and often ideologically hostile) leaders is beginning to make clear Koch Bros/ALEC sense:
Cripple an Agency from the top in order to destroy it (eg EPA) or privatize it (Dept of Ed, The VA)
