He had me in 2004 Key note. He had me for eight years. He is still out there fighting for us. He TOLD US to fucking vote. Some just ignored the warning and did not vote Democratic. Sad.

(1,068 posts)The same thing as the Titanic. That is not just the sinking of a ship. It is foresight or lesson to people. You ignore warnings and you get an iceberg (Russian meddling ) that will gouge out the side of your ship ( US voting system ) and you get a sunken ship ( 45 in the White House ).

(1,068 posts)I see a guy that was being slick and trying to pass off a cheap hustle ( and I really think he got it from some B movie ) as Presidential. The only honest way that he could get anywhere close to the White House is standing outside the fence.

(9,527 posts)anything about it. I was watching all the hacking reports summer 2016, thinking they were gonna steal it again, but no one was doing anything about it. Obama tried, but...GOP complicity.
apkhgp
(1,068 posts)I guess it was just way too long for me. As for the election I sit and watch NBC during the campaign and everything else and it is just one long sad story about us being taken for a ride by the GOP, KGB, Russians, and every other cheap hustler scumbag out there.

(54,506 posts)I also miss Christmas parties at the White House where the President walks in and calls me by my name! I sure as hell hope Trump does NOT know my name, and I'd be VERY perplexed if he were to invite me to anything.
Let me amend that by mentioning that if I were invited to a charity event where Melania were to repeatedly pull a lever that dumped him into a shallow pool of water, I MIGHT reconsider.

(5,376 posts)Thanks for making this old girl's heart skip a beat. I miss everything about my President--his intelligence, wit, compassion...I could go on and on. I'm almost old enough to be his mother, but that come-hither look...well, let's just say I ain't dead yet!
Thanks, too, for the wonderful memories of his 8 years at the helm of the ship of state. Wish he could have sailed on forever!
sheshe2
(84,060 posts)Yeah, he makes my heart skip a beat as well. Darn I miss that man and his beautiful family.
Not only do I miss complete sentences, I also miss his articulate and compassionate responses. I miss feeling safe and secure. I miss the way he made us feel united. I miss how he appreciated the little things and also his playtime with visiting children in the WH. I miss his environmental causes. I miss his commitment to advancing women's causes (equal pay & VAWA) I miss his self control, determination and grasp of realty. I miss the way he would reach across the aisle. I miss his commitment to this country. I miss so much more about him and his family. His legacy is always present, they can try to erase it from history but we won't let them.
