Macron: There is no plan B for Iran nuclear deal

French President Emmanuel Macron on Sunday urged the U.S. to stay in the multi-nation Iran nuclear deal, saying that he does not know of another option.

“I don’t have any plan B,” Macron told Chris Wallace on "Fox News Sunday."

“Let’s present this framework because it’s better than the sort of North Korean-type situation.”

"What do you have as a better option?" he asked.

Macron's comments come before he arrives in Washington for President Trump's first state visit.

Trump has slammed the Obama-era deal, referring to it as the "the worst deal ever negotiated" and an "embarrassment."

The Associated Press reported earlier this month that the president's aides are preparing for a scenario in which Trump withdraws the U.S. from the Iran nuclear agreement next month.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif ripped Trump on Sunday, saying he has failed to live up to the nuclear deal.
"Since President Trump has been in office, he has not actually lived up to the deal," Zarif told CBS's Margaret Brennan on "Face the Nation." "He has taken and his administration have taken every measure in order to make sure that Iran does not benefit economically from the deal."
