The motive was two fold, make the name Kennedy synonymous with American culture and politics because their father wanted that, a nice way of saying he wanted fame for the family, and the 2nd reason was to do the right thing, whatever that was.

Any Kennedy including those around today will make GREAT leaders for this reason.

They dont need money, and their default position politically is liberal, and they are smart and effective. Sounds good to me

They were raised to accept public responsibility but I think they each had their own mission.
