Anti-fascists protest neo-Nazi rally in Georgia; police arrest some wearing masks

With heavily armed riot police looking on from behind barricades, anti-fascist demonstrators held signs and chanted Saturday to protest a planned rally by neo-Nazis in Newnan, Ga.

It appeared to be the largest face-off between the groups since clashes at Charlottesville last year that left one person dead.

Members of Antifa, the loose-knit anti-fascist movement, gathered along the sidewalks on streets leading to Greenville Street Park where the rally by the National Socialist Movement was set to begin at mid-afternoon.

At the outset, police arrested several anti-fascist demonstrators, apparently for wearing masks.

One protester held a sign that read, "You can shoot us, you can run over us, but your side always loses."

I bet there are assholes on this planet that will try to join the alien's side because they hate particular earth groups.

10. Yep, I think they would use the same diversionary tactics as they do now. Advanced life forms would

probably recognize them for what they are. Of course, we have no idea what these advanced lifeforms might be. It's going to happened sometime. The universe is vast and IMO it's really a fool's logic to conclude we are the only life form in this vast universe.

11. Yes. Given the size just of our own galaxy and the number of planets that

can contain life, the likelihood that we are alone is pretty much zero. If an alien race reach us, one thing will be clear. They are likely way, way freaking more intelligent than we are, them just reaching us would be proof positive of that.

13. Here's an interesting video I watched recently, particularly interesting because it is

the US military providing the information, now retired, and able to speak openly. It's hard to watch this video and conclude there is nothing going on.

5. Wearing a mask in public is an arrestable offence in Georgia

unless it's on private property or part of a Halloween or other costume (it's something that was intended as an anti-KKK law).
