(115,681 posts)Spanky might be dumb enough to nominate him but even this limp bunch of GOP senators probably wouldn't confirm him. By acting as Spanky's personal attorney he has a built-in conflict, and there's the fact that he was actually investigated by the FBI after he hinted that he knew in advance of the Comey letter. And there's the fact that he hasn't practiced law in 30 years.

(58,785 posts)Turkish cleric living in the U.S. -- for $15 (?) million -- and delivering him to the hell Erdogan reportedly was preparing for him on a remote prison island. I've read, and hope, that he may be prosecuted if investigation establishes a crime was committed. It would be an extremely serious crime, of course, but even discussing it seriously, as we have good reason to believe he did, revealed tremendous capacity for evil.

(115,681 posts)"A tremendous capacity for evil" seems to have become a requirement for working in the Trump Administration. I wonder why Spanky hasn't tried to hire Dick Cheney for something?

(58,785 posts)W's shadow president probably scared Trump, but I wondered early on why that other swamp creature wasn't there. I just looked him up on Comey, and that produced ONLY
Etcetera predictably.
But no mention of DeLay brought up for Fox, Breitbart and so on, just that one far-right trash site.

(25,242 posts)it was Michael Flynn?

(58,785 posts)I was wrong in confusing them. As far as public info goes, Giuliani apparently has at this point only question of involvement due to his close connections to and close involvement with both Flynn and Erdogan during that time period.

Confirmation would be a brutal process he wouldn't want to expose himself to. I think he's saving Pruitt for temp AG.

I know you're not hoping for this, but I'm tired of the country being a Reality Show. Boring as it would be, it would be nice to see nominations that do not cause confirmation hearings to be a hoot. You know, someone legitimate, that both sides could get behind.
I guess that's a fantasy world though.

(62,444 posts)Is that I think the key thing is simply to hold on, at ones core level, to the idea that you have taken a substance which is altering your perceptual mechanism. This may lead to having a different perspective on your existence from which you may have periods of valuable insight, or you may have periods of apprehensiveness or obsessive preoccupation with disturbing thoughts. The key, however, is to not let go of that little piece of you which knows that it will wear off in a period of hours, and that if you ride it out, you will be fine and can later reflect on your thought process.
This alternate timeline, like some bad episode of Star Trek, is annoying the fuck out of me. I have to wonder whether the version of myself that managed to swap timelines with me is happy with himself. Because, damn that guy! This is simply not wearing off fast enough.

(3,515 posts)The Russians had stolen e-mails.
The Trump campaign including Papadapoulous, Manafort, Don Jr., Kushner, etc. all knew that the Russians had stolen e-mails. What duty did they have to report the crime if any?
That is the crux of the matter for me.
If Giuliani forgives and forgets that and the other crimes of the Russians supporting the Trump campaign, then he will be impeached in my opinion.
This is just my opinion.
Please dissuade me if you can think of any reason that I am wrong about this.
We don't have a duty to report crimes, but the theft of the e-mails?????

(62,444 posts)Im beginning to think that the remarkable job he did against Italian organized crime merely paved the way for Russian organized crime.
He was instrumental in manipulating Comey.

(7,431 posts)Hes tied to the impending failure to negotiate the end of the Mueller probe. He wont produce as directed and hell be seen as a failure. And Trumpy doesnt like the optics of hiring a failure. Besides, Rudy is an eyelash away from being a target in the Mueller probe. He has layers of conflicts of interest.
