Greitens charged with felony computer tampering

Greitens charged with felony computer tampering
By Joel Currier and Robert Patrick St. Louis Post-Dispatch

ST. LOUIS - Gov. Eric Greitens, who has been in a public court fight against a felony invasion of privacy charge for nearly two months, now faces a new felony charge: that he misused a charity donor list to solicit campaign cash for his 2016 run for governor.

St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner charged Greitens, 44, with felony computer tampering relating to a list of donors to his St. Louis-based charity The Mission Continues, which Greitens founded in 2007 and left in 2014.

The new charge relies at least in part on evidence shared with her office by Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley, a Republican, who announced Tuesday that his office had uncovered evidence Greitens misused the list to help fund his 2016 campaign. It also adds to a minefield of problems for a defiant governor struggling to save his job and political future.

If he takes down Greitens he will also beat mccaskill in November.

Was with a friend today who is from Missouri and she said it is such a dumb F state now. Her brother in law is such a dumpster fan she can barely talk with him. A co worker I know is retiring and moving to Missouri from the SF Bay Area I told her to not sell her home and live there for 3 months before she makes the final move. My friend agreed she might regret her move.

Suggest that she move to Hillsbirough County Florida, or Leon County Florida, close to Talkahassee, or Gainesville Florida. Smaller places than the Bay Area, but she will find all she need in terms of culture and shopping, and air travel if she need that.

Missouri is Trump country.

Hardcore.

I cant imagine anyone used to SF area liking redstate Missouri.

I'd get the hell out of here to a blue state tomorrow if I had the means to.

To hate everyone but old white men, so the voters will vote for tax cuts for billionaires. Small sad deplorables. Some of them will never find out they’ve been conned.

He will lose the fundies. Greitens' wife is a big fundie and Greitens fakes it.

And I know fundies are a big voting bloc. They might stay home in November if Hawley takes him down.

Delish!

From Greitens and held onto this almost until the statute of limitations expired. He's getting a lot of blowback on this and it doesn't look good for him.

The longer Greitens stays in office the worse it will be for GOP candidates in Missouri.

The GOP is pushing for Greitens to resign. More are calling for it everyday. Some have already said if he does not that impeachment could be on the table after returning from recess.

It could be a late summer/early fall start of an impeachment, which will ruin them. Of course, not doing anything could also ruin them. Add to it the apartment scandal and the $50,000 Hawley accepted from Greitens and things could be tough.
