Former MSNBC host Ed Schultz opened up in a recent interview about why he believes he was fired in 2015.
Schultz, whos now anchor of a show on RT, told National Reviews Jamie Weinstein that he believes it was because he supported Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), which was problematic, he charged, because the network was in the tank for Hillary Clinton.
He described how MSNBC chief Phil Griffin was a "watchdog" who closely managed which stories were covered, and relayed one incident where his story about Sanderss launch of his campaign was bumped in favor of other news.

(1,202 posts)Second, if that were the case, Chris Hayes would also have been shown the door.
Third, who gives a shit if MSNBC bumped Bernie coverage of his initial campaign. The temporary conversion to Democratic Party, didn't fool everyone and later, Bernie got and still gets more than enough coverage.

(10,849 posts)onto RT as an anchor, perfectly happy to push Russia-friendly propaganda?
Really?
That's quite a piece of evolution--right-wing radio guy to liberal Democratic anchor/pundit to unappreciated Bernie supporter to a RT mouthpiece.
Come on, Ed. Tell us another one. We love fairytales.

(23,875 posts)Schultz is their lap dog doing the Russkie's dirty work. Sowing dissension and division within the political left. Town Hall is a RW publication, no friends of the Democrats. Not surprising he'd do an interview with Town Hall.
Townhall is the top source for conservative news, political cartoons, breaking news, election news and commentary on politics and the media culture. The perfect site for conservatives, republicans, libertarians and liberty loving Americans.

(765 posts)Hayes was (and is) pretty deep in the tank for Bernie, and is not shy about it. I think Maddow and O'Donnell were, too, though somewhat less obvious about it.
