http://www.businessinsider.com/glenn-beck-tea-party-restoring-love-rally-photos-2012-7?op=1Conservative, doom-and-gloom Tea Party icon Glenn Beck says he is on a new mission. A mission for love.
More than one year after his Fox News departure, Beck accompanied by a gospel choir, an orchestra, an exact replica of the Liberty Bell made his comeback official this weekend, delivering a history lesson, a religious message, a spoken word performance and a musical and digital presentation to a 65,000-plus audience in the Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Dallas.
The "Restoring Love" event completes Beck's trifecta of rallying calls.
Beck struck a new tone with his audience, aiming for a positive, action-driven message, rather than an attack on a political ideology. But he maintained some of his government finger-pointing that made him famous on cable television, particularly Obama's recent business and government gaffe and the First Lady's "Let's Move" campaign.
Pacing around a cross-shaped stage, Beck told his audience: "We must not become America in name only. We must strive to be the great country that we are," he said. "There are two kinds of Americans. Those who like to be pushed, and those who push themselves."

Beck rented out Dallas Cowboys Stadium for his "Restoring Love" rally upwards of 65,000 people attended the event, according to estimates on Beck's website.
An orchestra played throughout Beck's two-hour speech.
This also happened.

(2,667 posts)Why is it that in the first paragraph they state as fact that "a 65,000-plus audience" was in attendance but then in the final abbreviated paragraph we are told that "upwards of 65,000 people attended the event, according to estimates on Beck's website", when there is a clear history of over-estimation of crowd size by Beck?
They seem to think that by inflating the numbers of people in attendance they can somehow claim legitimacy for the argument they present. Its an odd thing but at its base it is the most common thing, Republican distortion.

(55,445 posts)I've seen hubris, I've seen complete absence of self-awareness, but his co-opting MLK "tribute" a couple of years back for a modern-day klan minus the robes was one of the most over-the-top things I've seen in my life...

(13,468 posts)That takes it from laughable to wretched and hateful.
Beck is a monster, and I really believe he is mentally unstable.

I've read a few passages in that one. Not much love there. In fact, it's a lot of hate directed at people similar to the people here at DU. Glen Beck is a con man, and you fell for it.

(27,630 posts)His take on history is amazingly inaccurate, on a regular basis. He has a faulty grasp of the concepts of communism, socialism, capitalism, and fascism. Beck weaves things out of whole cloth. He makes up "facts" that never happened. Beck is wrong most of the time! Don't take my word for it...do some fact checking on your own.
I wonder why someone could possibly take this man seriously? Are you touched by his display of emotions, or what?

(19,877 posts)Funny how a man who spends 24/7 spreading HATE names his rally restoring love. Beck is a Fascists Fascist.
