The ultimate goal of "information warfare" is to divide and conquer. There is never the thought of "uniting the people" for a common goal or purpose.
Whether or not Donald Trump is aware of his ability to "divide and conquer" is debatable but he is very proficient at doing it. If another country was intent on declaring information warfare on the United States, they could find no better vessel than Donald J Trump.
How should we counter such an attack? When every issue and every opponent of the White House is portrayed as an enemy of the people? How can we "unite" the people behind one issue or one goal that is beneficial or supportive of our country when the leader of the country is opposed to anything that does not divide "us vs them"?
This is the dilemma our nation now faces. We are being divided by information. It can come in the form of character attacks, name-calling, threats, lies and misinformation, distractions, diversions, and tweets.
We are in the midst of an information war, mostly transmitted thru technology and social media. We have not yet figured out how to counter it.

As Louis XIV said:'L'etat, c'est Moi'. (The state is me.)

There is no gray area. Everything is black or white. Donald Trump will tell us what to think. If you disagree, you are an enemy.
