Sources: Mueller has evidence Cohen was in Prague in 2016, confirming part of dossier

WASHINGTON

The Justice Department special counsel has evidence that Donald Trump’s personal lawyer and confidant, Michael Cohen, secretly made a late-summer trip to Prague during the 2016 presidential campaign, according to two sources familiar with the matter.

Confirmation of the trip would lend credence to a retired British spy’s report that Cohen strategized there with a powerful Kremlin figure about Russian meddling in the U.S. election.

It would also be one of the most significant developments thus far in Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of whether the Trump campaign and the Kremlin worked together to help Trump win the White House. Undercutting Trump’s repeated pronouncements that “there is no evidence of collusion,” it also could ratchet up the stakes if the president tries, as he has intimated he might for months, to order Mueller’s firing.

But investigators have traced evidence that Cohen entered the Czech Republic through Germany, apparently during August or early September of 2016 as the ex-spy reported, said the sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation is confidential. He wouldn’t have needed a passport for such a trip, because both countries are in the so-called Schengen Area in which 26 nations operate with open borders. The disclosure still left a puzzle: The sources did not say whether Cohen took a commercial flight or private jet to Europe, and gave no explanation as to why no record of such a trip has surfaced.

I fail to see why you would doubt this. It seems you are pessimistic about Trump being taken down where as I look at this and believe it is the beginning of the end of Trump's presidency which make me extremely happy. He is a criminal and probably a murderer and needs to go.

Every single publication links back to the same McClatchy report (including Reuters).

There is not a single other news outlet that has independently corroborated the reporting.

viewed as not compelling in your posts. I think this is how the Trump presidency ends.

In fact, their headline is:

Special counsel has evidence Michael Cohen traveled to Prague: McClatchy

The first paragraph:

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. special counsel in the Russia probe has evidence that President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer Michael Cohen traveled to Prague in 2016, refuting Cohen’s claim that he never visited the Czech capital and bolstering an intelligence dossier that first described the trip, McClatchy reported on Friday

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trump-russia-prague/special-counsel-has-evidence-michael-cohen-traveled-to-prague-mcclatchy-idUSKBN1HL00J.

I just want one single news source to corroborate this story independently. Not a lot to ask for. So far there has not been any - and I would imagine they are trying as hard as they can to do so.

I am skeptical with respect to bad news for Trump after what happened in 2016 when pretty much every single person I trusted in the news media regularly reported that Trump had virtually no chance of winning the election.
