Why is the right so excited about the IG report?

I've lost the plot about this.

The right-wing has been awaiting this IG report like it's the start of the Rapture, and they're soooooo excited today, but I don't get it.

Are they basically smearing Comey and McCabe for the same reason -- lying/interfering re: investigation of Hillary -- even though it was detrimental TO Hillary?

I realize their logic is rarely evident but this really confuses me.

Even with the issues listed re: McCabe (lack of candor), how is that this YUUUUUUGE gotcha moment they seem to think it is?

Logic is not their strong suit.

3. From what I see on Twitter

They want to smear McCabe, Rosenstein, Mueller, Comey and the FBI generally to feed their conspiracy theory that the FBI is out to get Trump and therefore the Trump/Russia probe is bogus.


The fact that it was Clinton's campaign that was damaged by 'leaks' while the Trump/Russia probe was kept under wraps until after the election is inconvenient for them, so they just ignore it.


In the meantime they push the idea that these FBI 'bad actors' opened Trump/Russia at the behest of the Deep State/Clinton/Obama and then proceeded to conduct a witch hunt using illegal wire taps etc etc
