Trump chooses impulse over strategy as crises mount

But then Wednesday morning, Trump upended it all with a tweet — warning Russia, the Syrian government’s backer, to “get ready” because American missiles “will be coming, nice and new and ‘smart!’?”

White House advisers were surprised by the missive and found it “alarming” and “distracting,” in the words of one senior official. They quickly regrouped and, together with Pentagon brass, continued readying Syria options for Trump as if nothing had happened.

But the Twitter disruption was emblematic of a president operating on a tornado of impulses — and with no clear strategy — as he faces some of the most consequential decisions of his presidency, including Syria, trade policy and the Russian interference probe that threatens to overwhelm his administration.

“It’s just like everybody wakes up every morning and does whatever is right in front of them,” said one West Wing aide, speaking on the condition of anonymity to share a candid opinion. “Oh, my God, Trump Tower is on fire. Oh, my God, they raided Michael Cohen’s office. Oh, my God, we’re going to bomb Syria. Whatever is there is what people respond to, and there is no proactive strategic thinking.”

(70 years)

Trump this; Trump that. Always Trump, Trump, Trump. He won by cheating, bullying and robbing from decent people.

Never "I'm sorry," "I made a mistake," or a mea culpa.

He has earned the most epic downfall in American history.

This spiral downward will only get worse as they expose him and others for what they've done, and are presently doing, and it won't be pretty for them, and he knows it. That's why the desperate attempts to claim the opposite of the truth with more lies and phony claims, and using his propaganda network Fox to help promote pure propaganda now. He's out of control, and they need to use the 25th to stop this .

"Finds it alarming", rinse and repeat everyday. No One moves to stop it. No one in the Republican inner circle, such as it is, moves to stop this.
They just pack their bags and leave town, like Ryan, leaving the GOP to the Rumpers. If all that is left of the GOP are the Rumpers...what will happen when the mid-term elections are stolen? The coup will be complete.

i am shocked every single day that this has been allowed to continue this long. The press gets a lot of the blame. They are loving the salaciousness of all of this dirt and gossip and danger... but they still normalize him because it helps the ratings. The "reasonable" conservatives have all seen the light and they populate MSNBC all day long, but don't kid yourself for one minute that they will not be right back on the Republican bandwagon in the event of a Mike Pence Presidency.

These are the same people that destroyed the campaigns of Howard Dean, John Kerry, and Al gore over trivial utterances and wind surfing.
The coup is in the second year. Who will stop them?

Sorry for the rant... one of those mornings.
