Sure, they can point to about 70 people out of a bajillionty who support their efforts, but that still leaves millions of us with our eyes locked in side-eye position, wondering if they also plan on claiming our firstborn children and then selling them back to us. Im not saying that Nestlè is the Devil or a cruel witch or Rumpelstiltskin, but I am saying that they are pure evil and should be burned with dragonfire.
Perhaps they plan on donating some of the water they are stealing back to the people they stole it from. Have we mentioned yet that Nestle is paying $200 to suck up Michigans water, bottle it, and sell it back, at the same time Michigan has decided its past time the lazy takers from Flint stopped getting free bottled water? We regret the error.
Perhaps they got a sweet rush out of all that outrage from those silly peons who were being poisoned to death. Perhaps they are just greedy bastards who dont give a hot shit what we think.

(36,118 posts)I can't remember which name she was using, probably a combination of bravenak/something.
It was around the time Franken was tanked, she was reported for making statements about getting people to falsely accuse Bernie Sanders of assaults. Something like that. There was also another incident related to her comments about Susan Sarandon, but I don't really remember the details - and that may have been with a different Twitter name she was using.
But yes, she was banned on one of her usernames

(19,569 posts)Seriously, look at me here... I'm not controversial in the least. I mostly like everyone that isn't a RWer.
On twitter all I do is go against RW BS, and yes, I've had that twisted against me as being something else way back in 2008. I was banned for racism against Obama, when in fact I was a campaign worker for him and a delegate. It was complete bullshit fabricated by RW trolls. I literally quoted Obama in support, and it was edited and twisted until enough complaints came in my account was banned. That's twitter.
I need A LOT more than that weak sauce to believe any such claims.

I am someone who might have been a Sandernista, but he did not get my vote, because he either could not or would not rein in the people who saw human rights as so much baggage to be dumped, which would allow them to paint halos on their heads AND still keep blacks and browns in the back of the bus.

(12,827 posts)I don't remember bravenak participating in that kind of name-calling, but yeah it was ridiculous here for a while that people couldn't come to the community and express concerns about Trump's last-minute surge and the Comey fiasco without someone - quickly - jumping on them claiming they were expressing fake concern in order to depress Democratic voter turnout, when the intent was clearly to seek camaraderie and to ENCOURAGE people to take nothing for granted and GOTV.
And woe be to you if you expressed post-election frustration by saying something like, "This is what I was worried about!" - because then you'd be accused of being smug about the result.

I looked at the recommenders on the 2nd post, most are either banned or inactive - so that is a least a positive.
Unfortunately DU paid the price on the other end by losing a lot of strong women and POC voices who supported Democrats and wouldn't sit down and shut up when it came to racism, sexism, homophobia and other forms of bigotry.

(13,616 posts)When bravenak was given the high-tech equivalent of a lynching for being too "uppity", this form took a serious wound, and the scars have yet to be healed.
As far as certain page that claims to be a bunch of "radicals", I can say that from wherever he is, the person whose name they invoke would be ashamed of them. They are completely blind to the fact that they have been played for fools. The Republicans may accept being played for fools so that they may get an agenda, like that one Supreme Court justice that will finally bring back the days of the coat hangers and segregated schools. Sorry folks, we deserve far better than that.
As far as all the people who have gone on from here to get the respect they deserve elsewhere, I salute them, especially the subject of the OP. If we allow the Republicans to put so much fear into us that we think that we have to throw into the furnace everyone but the rich, that we are not just like them, but we are worse than them; we should know better.
