I'm seeing nothing but crap promoting Ted Cruz, the whacko candidate for Senate here in TX's Republican primary
"Not authorized by any candidate or any candidate's committee"
Right, and Outback steakhouses are vegan, too.

(15,189 posts)What safer place to put these ads. We here know who to vote for, so they are wasting their money here, and supporting DU at the same time.

(35,015 posts)And made it's way to DU! I'm sick of seeing the idiotic ads from both sides aired every commercial break on local TV.
Blowing cash to advertise on this site is hilarious.

(23,156 posts)and I believe that keeps my DU ad-free.
And since I don't have a TV, I only see political ads if Rachel Maddow shows me one.

(40,416 posts)I generally do not do that, but that's because I am severely bandwidth limited. Fortunately -- thanks to Skinner and the DU team -- DU is very friendly to us bandwidth limited people. Many DUers recognize our existence by putting dial-up warnings in the title. (No, I will not criticize you if you don't.)
The one I especially like is the Mormon ad which seems to pop up on any thread associated with Romney. It's perfect. I laugh every time I see it.

(5,756 posts)Like with radio and TV sellers of the ads sell them to brokers who the package a bunch of other ads and then place that package of ads with stations and web sites for a fee. Unless the stations or websites specifically request not to have particular ads included they don't usually know exactly what is those packages playing on their sites.
There is not a salesperson from the RW media calling on DU traffic managers to sell them ads.
