Walmart's Fight Hunger Campaign

Press Release Here

The ‘’Fight Hunger. Spark Change.’’ campaign launches at a critical time. One in eight Americans (41 million), including one in six children (nearly 13 million), struggle with hunger at some point during the year, according to the USDA. Hunger also affects certain populations more profoundly including children, seniors, and Latino communities, where one in four children are in food insecure households.

Walmart will start the campaign with a $1.5 million donation and aims to donate a total of $3 million to Feeding America based on the public’s social media engagement in the “Fight Hunger. Spark Change.” campaign.

They do this every year and I'm glad they are doing something (which is better than nothing). Various Suppliers and the bank that underwrites Walmart's credit card are kicking in too. This is all better than nothing.

Walmart's Net Profit in 2017 was $13.6 BILLION
Starting wages in it's US operations are around $12 hourly.

Walmart's employees and their families are at the top of the list when it comes to people with food insecurity. Walmart is gigantic. They have incredible potential to change the world. They have ... for the worse.

If the Walton family really gave one single iota about making the world a better place... they can simply start with raising wages and benefits for all employees, all over the world. And demand the same from their suppliers. They would fight for better environmental standards in the countries their goods are made and improved human rights.

They have the power... just use it.

Yes, it is correct that Walmart had a profit of 13 Billion as stated above...But hit the link above, and you will see that the gross revenue was about 485 Billion...with a gross profit..of 128 Billion...but, after other expences..
...........................................................
a net profit of 13 Billion..yes that is a lot. But, in relation to whole gross revenue (485 Billion) ..that 13 Billion profit ......is.............are you ready...about 3 and 1/2 percent.....

I got into this subject about a year ago..and did research on some other companies that do not have the...."evil" reputation of Walmart. .and found that some pharmaceutical companies, which sell us pills that some of us need to live on.......have a profit of close to 33 percent of gross revenue. Most were in the 25 -30 percent rage for net profit. So, if one looks at that, you could say stuff that we need to live on, pills, those companies are screwing us royally.....and we got to have that stuff.............

While Walmart...who is screwing us a some., well......guess what? .... Shop somewhere else..You don't have to go there..............Walmart has plenty of competition.....and one more thing...some of the stuff at Walmart really is cheaper than other places..

Start fixing your in house hunger problem, then look elsewhere for praise.
