The mayor was among the political beneficiaries of the major role the KKK played in Denver and CO in the 20s.
The article is extremely interesting, containing info about yet another state near-ruled by the KKK in the 20s and the power of $$ to determine what useums display. The article also mentions the museum's failure to seek Native American input for its depiction of the Sand Creek Massacre and of Japanese-Americans for its depiction of the CO WWII internment camp.
