Election season is always bizarre

To the degree to which Mitt Romney can be said to have any positions, Mitt Romney:

1) Favors ending medicare
2) Favors fiscal policies that would throw the nation into depression
3) Favors starting a war with Iran

The election, however, will not be decided on any of these things.

It will be decided on how effectively Romney can be mocked for things that are (in the big picture) trivial.

I have no problem with mocking him. It is, in fact, what will win or lose the election. It is tactically vital.

It's just bizarre that the election will not be determined by the fact one candidate has utterly unacceptable positions.
