More from Betsy's Michigan training grounds

Our dear Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos, got her "training" by helping the great state of Michigan (I'm not being nasty to the state, folks. Lord knows you've had enough nasty done to you already!).

Remember how "charter schools" and "independent, for-profit" schools are going to save us, using the "competition is good" model (you know, run education like a business*). Well, it seems that one district has done just that - been run like a business - and the business closed up - leaving the kids in the district without a school system!

Find details in the following:

*run __________ like a business (you fill in the blank). That was one of the BS lines we were told about IQ45: "He's a business man - he knows how to get things done!"

Sorry about that year you just wasted trying to get an education, kids. Good-bye Class of 2022, hello 2023!

But thanks for all the education dollars we hoovered up to pay our executives their salaries. Good luck getting your compensation, unpaid teachers and staff; there's no more blood in this turnip.

never seem to get it through their thick skulls that you can't run a school "like a business" nor for that matter you can't run a country "like a business" because profits before people never works for the good of everyone. What Devos pushed on Michigan is an abomination. Our kids deserve much better. The situation in states like West Virginia and Oklahoma is tragic and shameful. Education should NOT be a moneymaking scheme!!! It is a basic right for all American children!! It should be a priority, not an afterthought!
