Really important to pass this around. Won't be the first time this had been done and this year's elections are essential to keep our country safe.

Reaserch those who suddenly appear out of the shadows, with shiny new images freshly reinvented, and their promises full of fools gold.

(94,858 posts)...and did you bother to read the policy positions of Annabelle Robertson (universal healthcare, Assault Weapons bans, support for public education)? Or is a Twitter meme sufficient for candidate selection?

FWIW: this is a R+15 "Safe Republican" seat, and none of the Democrats have any cash. Pick whichever one campaigns on the issues you care about, and don't worry about whether they'll live up to them if elected; they won't be winning.

(35,454 posts)if those are her views...hardly in line with her party and, has she awlays held these view or just recently.

Remember Phil Gramm? He started out as a Democratic Congressman.

(988 posts)I just looked up Annabelle Robertson and its not clear that she was a former republican. This could just be somebody pushing Carrigan which is OK but not under false pretenses.
Phil Black could be a different story.

(14,552 posts)have a history of screwing with Democratic primaries in SC.
Alvin Greene won primary against a well known democrat. Although this was never investigated it was rumored that republicans paid him to run. He was unemployed and living with his father. But he came up with the $10,000 to file. Then never campaigned. SC has open primaries. Needless to say Demint won in a landslide.
That same year, Clyburn's primary opponent had several of Joe Wilson's aides and a republican campaign manager working his campaign. He insisted he wasn't a plant despite using words like Socialist agenda and No more taxes/taxed enough.
In the early 90's a republican campaign manager hired a black man, with a drug conviction to oppose the democrat, Ravenel, for congress. It was an effort to bring out white voters so his candidate (his sister) would win her election for Lt gov.
Lee Atwater honed his chops in SC. before going to DC.
A warning to SC voters is merited. All candidates need to be vetted properly. Now I think the meme is dirty. It twists some facts to make them more than what they are. Dems don't need to be attacking Dems like this. It actually turns me off from the candidate this person is supporting.

(32,099 posts)Wilson is my representative (in title only), and it seems like he's running scared. I have been campaign calls from him for the first time since he took office. Not sure how the hell I ever got on his list, as I'm not a republican, let alone a registered one.
