Overview: The goal of Parents Promise to Kids (PPTK) is to get parents to vote for candidates who believe that the safety of our children is much more important than guns. We urge parents to sign a contract, found under the CONTRACT page, and then post it on social media. The contract is a promise to their kids to assure that they will never leave their homes in fear of being attacked by people with assault weapons.
We Want Parents To PROMISE To Their Children That They Will Vote For Legislators Who Support Children's Safety over Guns.

THE PROJECT: COVER STORY
Wednesday, February 14, 2018, a mass school-shooting occurred at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. Valentines Day was expected to be a day full of love and happiness, but instead turned into a day filled with grief and sorrow. For far too long, the US government has failed in keeping guns out of the hands of deranged killers; thus resulting in the deaths of too many innocent people. How long can we go before another mass-shooting strikes our nation? How many more innocent lives will be taken until politicians make a meaningful change? Tragedies such as Columbine, Sandy Hook, the Las Vegas shooting, and Pulse Night Club sent a shock throughout the nation. After these events, people demanded change, but nothing happened. This ends now! The people and community surrounding Marjory Stoneman Douglas will be the last to endure such a horrific event. Never again will we allow this to happen.
Students Adam Buchwald and Zach Hibshman, both juniors at Marjory Stoneman Douglas, have taken the initiative to create the organization Parents Promise To Kids to ensure that children's voices are HEARD! In our movement, we urge parents to make a promise to their children that they will vote for politicians who choose your children's safety over guns! Children under the age of 18 are not permitted to vote for our leaders; however, their parents are. We want parents to sign a contract to promise their children that they will vote for politicians who support children's safety and practice common-sense gun laws. Parents, make a promise to your kids!
THE HARD TRUTH
100% OF SCHOOL SHOOTERS
USE GUNS OF MASS DESTRUCTION
WHY DO OUR LEADERS DO NOTHING TO STOP THESE SHOOTINGS?

Last week, in Parkland, Florida, after classes had resumed and news trucks had left, two sixteen-year-old juniors at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School sat at a dining-room table, in a gated community, trying to launch a movement. Adam Buchwald, stroking a precocious five-oclock shadow, pitched a visitor. We want parents to sign a contract, he said, promising their kids that theyll vote for leaders who put kids safety over guns. The contract concept had occurred to Adam and his friend Zach Hibshmanwho each knew two of the fourteen students killed at their schoolin the Buchwalds den, where theyd been hunkering down since the shooting.
Last Friday, we were just, like, Lets change the world, Zach, who was wearing gym clothes, said.
Our classmates marched in Tallahassee, which we think is great, Adam went on, referring to the #NeverAgain movement. But our movement will make a major change in future elections.
The teens had just returned from a half day back at school. We arent doing any real classes this week, Zach said. No homework. We painted rocks in science...........................................
