Well, when it rains it pours. Because now an old story involving Ingraham and her treatment of her LGBTQ classmates in college has resurfaced and it has brought with it a fresh wave of outrage.
Basically, while she was studying at Dartmouth in the 80s, Ingraham was editor of the conservative college newspaper the Dartmouth Review.
At one point during her tenure there, she assigned a reporter to sneak into a meeting for LGBTQ students and then record their conversations. She then published the transcript, outing many of the students to classmates.
But it gets worse.
Ingraham also allegedly sent tapes of the meetings to the students parents.
In the article, Ingraham called the LGBTQ group cheerleaders for latent campus sodomites and later defended the outings as a freedom of the press issue then tried saying the purpose of the article was to question the schools funding for the program.
The big thing is what does this organization do with its money? Ingraham said at the time. It seems like they just have parties and talk about parties. There isnt a heterosexual group that gets funding.
When asked about Ingrahams nasty tweet and insincere apology to him last week, Hogg told CNN over the weekend:
Its disturbing to know that somebody can bully so many people and just get away with it, especially to the level that she did. No matter who somebody is, no matter how big or powerful they may seem, a bully is a bully and its important that you stand up to them.

I doand years ago I had a run-in with him over the sleazy tactics used to do it.
David Corn | Jan. 24, 2014 6:48 PM
Nine years later, when DSouza was being hailed upon the publication of his book, Illiberal Education: The Politics of Race and Sex on Campusthe Washington Post called him palpably smart, sober-minded, and a gentlemanI wrote a short piece in The Nation and recalled that I had once witnessed him boasting about improperly purloining documents for the gay-naming article. ...
At first, I took DSouza at this word, accepting his account that the Review had used public information for its article naming the officers of the Gay Student Association, and conveyed that in the correction. That was a mistake on my part. After DSouza complained about the correction, I decided to investigate further. I called Dolores Johnson, director of student activities at Dartmouth. She said it was absolutely untrue that the documents the GSA had filed with the school were open to the public. Certainly, she explained, the GSA, like all student groups, had provided her office the names of its officers and a constitution (and perhaps letters written by students about the group). But, she said, I would never give that information out to the public. And there was this: She pointed out that shortly before the Review published its article naming the gay students, some documents had disappeared from the GSAs desk in a student center. Johnson noted that these missing documents were the ones cited in the Review story.
So the evidenceat least, Johnsons accountsuggested that foul play had been involved in the outing article. And DSouzas self-serving cover storywe obtained the information from public recordswas undercut. He had duped me. Not surprisingly, after I returned to this matter in the pages of The Nation to relate Johnsons description of the events and partially retract the correction, DSouza did not respond. His silence spoke loudly.

(12,858 posts)Dinesh was also on the Dartmouth Review. Students who worked there and at similar reviews at other colleges had a fast track to jobs with major RW organizations.
This info about Ingraham has been long known. David's relating her treatment of him and LeBron to what she did to the LGBTQ students thankfully has made her actions at Dartmouth known to a much larger national audience.

(3,010 posts)...is that because Dartmouth Review wasn't an official Dartmouth publication, the incident wasn't seen as an infraction of college policy.
That's only a guess, mind you.
