Who would he hurt more? Trump or the Democratic nominee?

(32,121 posts)When do you think he will be gone? I read countless posts saying he would be dumped before the Republican convention, and then dumped by the electoral college. So far no one's crystal ball is working very well.

(14,202 posts)In any event a third party candidate like Kasich would likely split the R voter block and cause the Dem to win more total votes.
But..... will the Dems take the majority back in the House of Representatives.
____________
The Twelfth Amendment requires the House of Representatives to go into session immediately to vote for a president if no candidate for president receives a majority of the electoral votes (since 1964, 270 of the 538 electoral votes).

(10,721 posts)Kasich is only "moderate" in the insane world in which we now find ourselves. That anyone would call him "moderate" makes for a sad statement about where we are in this society.

(10,721 posts)Studies have made clear that most of today's so-called "independents" are actually more partisan than the average party-affiliated voter of decades past. They simply like calling themselves "independent."

(15,393 posts)But I don't see his having much of an effect on whomever the repub candidate will be. He can come off as smart and moderate (though he's not) - neither are qualities republicans hold in high regard these days.

(1,693 posts)Not a moderate. Kinda like George H.W. Bush. I think he would hurt Trump more if only in OH, MI, PA, and other rust belt states. I don't see him hurting the Dems much.
