I'm very surprised. I thought Easter was a federal holiday?

(32,841 posts)The Postal Service used to refrain from Sunday deliveries unless the sender paid extra.
But I guess that has changed now because so many people are only home on Sundays any more.

(32,761 posts)since federal holidays fall on weekdays. I really thought Amazon had it wrong when they kept sending alerts about my package arriving today.

(115,926 posts)so federal offices aren't open anyhow. Easter Monday is also not a federal holiday, although that's the day of the WH Easter Egg Roll.

Most large sorting centers are open today (they pretty much run 24/7/365) and street deliveries are often handled by contractors on Sundays and holidays

Ordered something from Amazon that was delivered by a person in a private vehicle. The package had a usps label.

(1,474 posts)and is supposed to arrive tomorrow. Amazon is usually accurate on projected delivery dates. I thought USPS was closed on Sundays, but on Easter Sunday? We are clearly missing something here (at least I am).

It IS a Holy day, however.
