Fascinating report.
The Mueller investigation will turn up a spider's web of incredibly interesting but very complicated connections.
And it all turns on the money, the enormous amounts of money (purposely repeated) to be made as long as it is OIL that turns the gears and fuels the motors of the world.
I used to work for a small oil company -- doing research on news reports, etc. including some exploratory "spot trading" work for it. That is why I am so aware of what a small world the oil companies are -- a world of their own. And that is why I know how much greed and money are involved.
My association with the oil sector was long, long ago and rather short, but enough to have taught me just what is at stake for those involved in it. If there is one thing that has made the world go round in the 20th century more than any other, it is probably oil.
And the money to be made on it is the only thing I can think of that would cause the heartless, materialistic people Mueller is investigating to want to betray humankind and the earth itself.
On this Easter Sunday, no matter whether you are a Christian or not, it is a good time to remember that there are values more essential and worthwhile than just being rich or getting from A to B. Our planet and not just democracy is at stake right now.
Patience.
Special prayer (or just good thoughts if you prefer) for Mueller and his team this morning. We are grateful for what they are doing.
Life itself is at stake.

(3,515 posts)rode a horse as a child. The teacher in her one-room school out there in the country had a horse and buggy as did my mother's family.
Cars and tractors came later. But riding in a horse and buggy down the interstate highway is unthinkable to us.
When I traveled to Eastern Europe in the 1960s, there were lots of horse-drawn wagons. It's not so long ago we relied on horses and cattle in farming and for transportation.
And now it is time to make a change from oil and gas to alternative energy forms.
I took a walk today (in Los Angeles) and noted that every time I go out for one of my long walks, I see more and more solar panels on the houses -- and I don't live in a wealthy area.
A change is coming. And those in the oil and gas business know this better than the rest of us -- but they aren't going to let go of their easy money without a fight.
Hold tight. It's going to be quite a ride.
