Just to focus on one of the outrageously STUPID campaign "promises" of Trump, did you ever in your

life think we would live to see and hear supposedly educated people on TV discussing when and how our nation would build a WALL along our southern border to prevent people from crossing it? Can you think of a bigger waste of money? Can you name any comparably sized government undertaking---other than a war---that was based on such transparent ignorance?

We here in southern Illinois are no strangers to tornadoes. Each spring, they take their toll of our lives and our homes. Why have we not built a " beautiful wall" along our side of the Mississippi from, say, Alton to Cairo to keep them out? Because it is a preposterously STUPID idea! Too stupid to even discuss!

And, yet, at times, TV news programs devote entire hours to how Trump's wall should be designed, where it should begin and how much it should cost. And, of course, seldom is it mentioned, now that the votes have been cast, that " Mexico will pay for it."

As long as we pretend that this ignorance just may be a valid idea; as long as we countenance elected officials who do not denounce it for the transparent folly that it is; as long as we avoid saying out loud that the very idea ofTrump's wall is a national embarassment every time it is mentioned, we give aid and comfort to the domestic enemies of our nation.

And, if the idea of the wall itself was not patently absurd enough, demanding that Mexico pay for it was the cherry on top.

How on earth did Trump expect to enforce that?

That the media let the suggestion fly for even one news cycle shows the problem we in America have. Are people that unaware of what the border between Mexico and the US looks like? Are they that unaware of how people actually get to the US from Mexico or anywhere else, for that matter? As long as all the media follow along reading FoxNews' play book, we are all fucked.

... to do is keep promising it and acting like it’s going to happen thru 2020. After that he won’t give a shit and won’t mention it again. I personally hope he doesn’t last that long anyway - but I think that’s what’s going on in his head.

Last night on "All In with Chris Hayes" they've got Trump referring to a border fence that has been being built at the border for the past nine years as, "His Wall". He made the claim that construction of the border wall has begun as he promised and they showed pictures of a fence that the Border Patrol began erecting 9 years ago.
