Rampant Crime Committed by Immigrants is all in Trump's Imagination

“Every day, sanctuary cities release illegal immigrants, drug dealers, traffickers, gang members back into our communities,” he said last week. “They’re safe havens for just some terrible people.”

In a large-scale collaboration by four universities, led by Robert Adelman, a sociologist at the State University of New York at Buffalo, researchers compared immigration rates with crime rates for 200 metropolitan areas over the last several decades. The selected areas included huge urban hubs like New York and smaller manufacturing centers less than a hundredth that size, like Muncie, Ind., and were dispersed geographically across the country.

According to data from the study, a large majority of the areas have many more immigrants today than they did in 1980 and fewer violent crimes. The Marshall Project extended the study’s data up to 2016, showing that crime fell more often than it rose even as immigrant populations grew almost across the board.

Somehow it just never seemed to be true that immigrants are committing crime at the rate the wingnuts think.

and my sign was cool so a ton of people wanted to interview me. On the local news on one station they show me going off on how the undocumented immigrants are afraid to call the police now since ICE might be knocking on their door and that crimes committed by them has declined for hears and years and tRump is lying about the facts. It was really hard not to swear but I somehow managed and didn't call him a fucking moron on camera during any of the interviews.

His lies just serve to stir up his xenophobic base, and Fox Propaganda and rightwing talk radio are all too happy to perpetuate it. I am going to keep this article filed in case I ever have to prove facts when arguing with a Deplorable!

You showed remarkable restraint, BigmanPigman!

Without their hard work we'd be in a deep puddle of stupidity and Medieval superstition.

talking point lie that he knew would excite his base. He took some one off incidents and made it all up and next thing you know O'Reilly was pushing "Kate's law" kind of like Hannity pushes the "Uranium One" nonsense. These are all Fox News manufactured issues, just like all the accusations against Hillary were, manfactured, made up. But we knew it was BS because it was never in the news as a big issue before Spanky started talking it up and blowing it up. Glad to see there's a study now that disproves this part of his evil nonsense rhetoric. Alhough, he'll still use it and they'll still eat it up. But at least there's something to push back with now thats's fact based.
