Israel

JERUSALEM — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel was questioned by the police on Friday as a possible suspect in a third bribery case, the weightiest so far in a string of corruption investigations that are jeopardizing his political future.

Officers questioned Mr. Netanyahu about a case involving Shaul Elovitch, an Israeli telecommunications tycoon accused of using his popular Hebrew news site to provide positive coverage of Mr. Netanyahu and his wife in return for regulatory and financial benefits worth tens of millions of dollars.

Former South African President to Appear in Court on Corruption Charges

Former South African President Jacob Zuma is to appear in court on April 6 to face corruption charges.

Police said Zuma was issued a summons Monday, continuing a dramatic fall for the former president who was forced to leave office last month after his party turned against him.

South Africa's National Prosecuting Authority said earlier this month it would seek to prosecute Zuma on 16 charges, including fraud, racketeering, corruption and money laundering.

Italy: Berlusconi Indicted on Corruption Charges

Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi was indicted in Milan on Monday of allegedly paying witnesses to lie in front of judges during his sex-for-hire trial, according to the Associated Press.

Berlusconi, who leads the Forza Italia political party, has previously been on trial over hiring an underage sex worker. Now he is indicted with judicial corruption, along with four young women who allegedly accepted the bribes related to their testimony on Berlusconi’s so-called bunga bunga parties.

Ex-Peruvian president barred from leaving the country amid corruption investigation

The ruling came a day after Peru’s congress accepted Pedro Pablo Kuczynski’s resignation and swore in Vice-President Martin Vizcarra as his successor. Kuczynski, 79, is being probed for some $782,000 U.S. in payments his consulting firm received from a Brazilian construction giant.

LIMA, Peru—A Peruvian judge on Saturday barred recently resigned President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski from leaving the South American nation for 18 months while he’s investigated for money laundering.

The ruling came a day after congress accepted Kuczynski’s resignation and swore in Vice-President Martin Vizcarra as his successor.

Kuczynski, 79, is being probed for some $782,000 U.S. in payments his consulting firm received a decade ago from Odebrecht, the Brazilian construction giant at the heart of Latin America’s biggest-ever bribery scandal. Some of the payments took place when Kuczynski was a government minister, raising questions about whether they were made in return for political favours.

Very glad to see the mood of the countries has shifted.

Esp. Netanyahu. I suspect Kushner may have been involved with bribery...remember his solitary visit? Followed by Trump's announcement the embassy would be moved to Jerusalem?
